ARGCS Chicago Round 7 Look-in Feature Match: Zach Leverett (Burning Abyss) vs Stanley Topa (Burning Abyss)

Live look in here in Game 1 at Table 3 in a fierce Burning Abyss mirror match!  I'm stepping in right in the thick of things of Game 1


In response to a Soul Charge fueled turn, Zach uses Phoenix Wing Wind Blast on Stanley's Dante, discarding Cir to bring back Scarm which then dies.  Stanley then uses Raigeki to clear the field. Stanley then uses Mystical Space Typhoon on Zach's set Mystical Space Typhoon.  During the End Phase Zach searches Tour Guide from the Underworld with Scarm.

4000 (Zach) - 3200 (Stanley)

Zach Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld to bring out Alich in defense.  He overlays for Dante, moves to BP then Main Phase 2, overlays for Downerd Magician then sets a Vanity's EmptineSpecial Summons and paSpecial Summonses the turn.

Stanley Normal Summons Scarm then Zach flips Vanity's.  Stanley's Dante mills Cir, Calcab, and Phoenix Wing Wind Blast which then swings into Zach's Downerd Magician.  Zach detaches Scarm from his Downerd Magician to add Cir to his hand.

4000 (Zach) - 3000 (Stanley)

Zach swings but is met with Stanley's Fire Lake.  Zach sets a monster and Fire Lake then passes his turn.  During the End Phase Stanley adds Rubic to his hand with Scarm.

Stanely Special Summons's Rubic to Synchro Summon Virgil and Zach has seen enough!

Now they get a chance to dig into their Side Decks for Game 2.


 

Game 2

Zach starts with double Upstart then Special Summons Calcab to Normal Summons Cir.  He Xyz Summons Dante and mills Cir, Allure of Darkness, and Phoenix Wing Wind Blast.  Cir brings back Calcab from the grave.  He sets two backrow and ends his turn.

8000 (Zach) - 10000 (Stanley) 

Stanley starts off with a Puppet Plant to steal Zach's Dante.  In response to Stanley gaining control, Zach uses Enemy Controller, tributing his Calcab to take back control of his Dante.  He goes on and Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld to bring out Graff.  In response, Zach uses Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, discarding Puppet Plant, to spin Stanley's Graff.

Zach draws for turn and Stanley immediately uses Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, discarding Rubic to spin Dante.  Cir brings back Calcab.  He goes on and Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld to bring out Graff. He Xyz Summons Dante, detaching Graff to mill Mystical Space Typhoon, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, and a Tour Guide from the Underworld.  Main Phase 2 Zach overlays for Downerd Magician.  During the End Phase, Scarm adds Tour Guide from the Underworld to Zach's hand.

8000 (Zach) - 5700 (Stanley)

Stnaley Normal Summons Graff then Special Summons Cir.  He Xyz Summons Dante in defense, then moves to Main Phase 2 and overlays for Downerd Magician.  He paSpecial Summonses without another play.

Zach draws then Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld which brings out Scarm from his deck.  He Xyz Summons Temtempo the Percussion Djinn, then uses its effect to detach Dante (adding Rubic to Stanley's hand).  He sets one backrow, and During the End Phase Scarm adds Graff to Zach's hand.

Stanley draws then immediately Mystical Space Typhoon's Zach's set Vanity's Emptiness.  He then banishes Tour Guide from the Underworld and Dante from his grave to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning.  Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning swings and Temtempo detaches Cir from stanley's downerd.  Zach's Dante adds Cir to his hand.

Zach draws for turn and immediately goes into the tank, staring longingly at the Enemy Controller in his hand.  He Special Summons Graff then Normal Summons Cir.  Xyz Summons Dante to mill two Vanity's Emptiness and a Calcab.  Cir then brings back Dante.  He then uses Enemy Controller to tribute Dante and take Stanley's Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, adding Cir to his hand.  Buring Battle Phase, Dante runs over Downerd, triggering Stanley's Graff which brings out Scarm.  Main Phase 2 Zach has Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning banish itself as he overlays Downerd ontop of Dante.

 

7200 (Zach) - 5500 (Stanley)

Stanley draws for turn then Special Summons Rubic from his hand.  He then overlays for Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction then runs over Downerd Magician.  Zach's Graff brings out Scarm from his deck, while Dante adds Graff to his hand.  Stanley sets one backrow then passes his turn

6700 (Zach) - 5500 (Stanley)

Zach Special Summons Graff then Xyz Summons for Wind-Up Zenmaines.  He sets a monster facedown then ends his turn.  During the End Phase, Stanley uses Enemy Controller to tribute his Acid Golem, triggering Scarm to add Tour Guide from the Underworld to his hand.

Stanley Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld to bring out Scarm.  He then Xyz Summons for Number 47: Nightmare Shark and attacks directly.

4700 (Zach) - 5500 (Stanley)

Zach draws for turn, mulls over his options and offers the handshake in concession!


Stanley advances to the last round at 6-1!
