Here in round 7 we’ve got an interesting match-up. Ethan Reece, who we saw earlier, is 5-0-1 with Mermails and his opponent Coty Angeloff is also 5-0-1 with an interesting Ghostrick build that techs The Beginning of the End, The Dark Creator and the newly released Kuribandit. From what we’ve seen thus far, Kuribandit has the potential to set up graveyards for combo based decks, and as a result can completely dictate a game state from the moment it’s played.  However, since it’s new, it doesn’t exactly have what one would consider a home-yet. Could Ghostricks be the deck it Read more

Hey guys! Welcome to Round 6! As the day starts to wind down we have Spitta up against Alex. Spitta didn’t have far to travel to get to the event today, however Alex had to travel all the way from New York to get here. Both duelists have made it this far with perfect “5-0” records and a win here almost cements a spot for them in Day 2.   Alex wins the die roll and elects to play first. He opens the duel with an Upstart Goblin before T-setting and passing. 9000-8000 Spitta opens Maxx “C”, Vanity’s Emptiness, Soul Read more

Here in round 5 we have a match-up that strays away from the barrage of Mermails and Dragons we’ve seen today. Corey Roca is undefeated with Evilswarm and his opponent, Daniel Joy, is here piloting a Reaper focused Spellbook deck. Without further delay, let’s get to it. Daniel started things off by summoning Kuribandit and he proceeded to the end phase activating its effect. It milled Soul Charge, Spellbook Star Hall, Threatening Roar, Spellbook of Wisdom and Reaper of Prophecy. He opted to add Soul Charge. Corey’s opening play was a little more orthodox. He summoned an Evilswarm Castor and Read more

Here in round 3 we’ve got Robert Scarpelli piloting Mythic Dragon Rulers, a deck that really needs no explanation. It’s without a doubt one of the favorite contenders this weekend to utilize Soul Charge to its full potential. His opponent, Darius Mcgee, is piloting an Anti-Meta Stun deck that packs cards like Banisher of the Radiance and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo in the main deck. These cards are inherently good against all the top decks right now, and could likely be the deciding factor in this matchup. Darius started things off by summoning a Banisher of the Radiance, backed by 2 Read more
