By now, you all should know about the all powerful Spellbook of Judgment and Elemental Dragons which come out in Taqchyon Galaxy. Today, I’m going to talk about some of my favorite cards from this upcoming set which aren’t from the Prophecy archetype or the Elemental Dragons. Tachyon Galaxy as a whole is a very powerful set, with a bountiful amount of cards that have great potential. The first 2 cards go hand in hand Tridon, the Atlantean Emperor Water/3/Sea Serpent/1600/800 You can Tribute this card and 1 other Sea Serpent-Type monster; Special Summon 1 “Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon” from Read more

A long time ago, in a game far far away from where we are now, there were these monsters… and they had to be destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard to Special Summon Monsters from decks. Crazy right? One of these was [ccProd]Apprentice Magician[/ccProd], one of my favorite Spellcaster-type Monsters to exist, and with it there used to be a deck called SCC… or Spellcaster Control. If you’re a seasoned vet like myself, you might remember this deck, but more than likely you have no idea what I’m talking about. It consisted of things like [ccProd]Apprentice Magician[/ccProd], [ccProd]Old Read more

Going into YSC San Diego, I had never played Battle Pack, nor did I think I had too. One of my greatest strengths is my knowledge of cards and rulings, and this knowledge reaches into not just cards in our meta, but all cards in general. I figured this would all I needed to take the Sealed event and make day 2, and I was right, mostly. Because I decided to not worry about the whole draft aspect, I spent the last few weeks leading up to San Diego messing around and fine tuning my Mermail deck, because all that Read more

Going into Nationals, hands down in my opinion, the scariest deck to play against is Prophecy.  Prophecy has gotten support for a long time now, 4 sets I believe, gaining a little more support each time. But now, they get one of the most powerful cards ever created in Yu-Gi-Oh history… and that of course, is the apocalyptic Spellbook Judgment Day, that I’m sure most of you have heard of. Spellbook Judgment Day Quickplay Spell During the End Phase of the turn you activated this card, add “Spellbook” Spell Cards from your Deck to your hand, except “Spellbook Judgment Day”, Read more

In about a month in a half, one of the most powerful sets in a long while, Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy, will be released, and with it so will the the ultimate Elemental Beast; the Elemental Dragons. These Dragons are born of each Fire, Earth, Water, and Wind, and all have very similar abilities, yet each have unique powers of their own. We have the following Blaster, the Fire Elemental Dragon Fire/Dragon/7/2800/1800 Tempest, the Wind Elemental Dragon Wind/Dragon/7/2400/2200 Tidal, he Water Elemental Dragon Water/Dragon/7/2600/2000 Redox, the Earth Elemental Dragon Earth/Dragon/7/1600/3000 First of all, each Dragon is Level 7, this Read more

Just recently the newest Tin was released with one of the most powerful Xyz Monsters in the game, Volcasaurus. Along with Volcasaurus is a wide array of Galaxy and Photon cards in which most of them are actually pretty decent. I’ve been toying around with the Galaxy/Photon deck for the past week, and still have tons of kinks to get out of it, but as of right now, this is what I have built. I will also add links to all the new cards from the tin I am using. Just click on the name of the card! 2 Card Read more

Last week was my first session of many in my J.J Q&A segment, in which I actually really enjoyed.  This week I’m going to go back and answer just a few more questions randomly chosen out of my inbox. Today our first question is from William who asks Dear Mr. Jones I would like to ask u a question about the Mermail deck. The current version that was built used 3 Megalo, 3 Abysslinde , and 3 Abyssteus. I was wondering could the deck be played effectively if u only have 2 copies per of each card named? In Yugioh, Read more

Every week I get probably 100+ questions in my inbox on Facebook. Clearly, its unreasonable for me to answer every single person, so honestly, I don’t read most in-boxes I get because I feel like it’s just not right to help some people and not others. So the other day on my Facebook I posted “Anyone who wants me to answer a question, Email me your question and I will randomly pick some people who’s questions I will answer”. I got quite a lot of questions, so today will be my first “JJ Q&A” article. First up we have a Read more

Finally the time has come. Going into YCS Miami I had no idea what I was going to run at first until the TCG Exclusives were announced. And then I saw him. The card that instantly changed everything for me, the card that made me instantly know what I would be running… Mermail Abyssteus. Water//7/Aqua/1700/2400 You can discard 1 other WATER monster to the Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your hand. When you do: Add 1 Level 4 or lower “Mermail” monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Mermail Abyssteus” once per Read more
