Circuit Series Coverage Archive Richmond, Virginia April 26th & 27th, 2014

Welcome duelists. The next stop on the ARG Circuit Series brought back to the east coast to Richmond, Virginia.  A total of 395 players showed up at first last Circuit event under the new banlist.  Also, the new set Dragons of Legend was legal for play meaning that the highly anticipated Soul Charge would be making its new debut along with Kuribandit, Mathematician, Fire Hand and Ice Hand.  Going into the event Geargia and Water were thought as the top decks to beat but Soul Charge alone may make new decks emerge.  But in the end there was another former top tier deck that took the top spot.

There was a strong field of duelists as California was well represented at the event. We also had former ARG Circuit winners Patrick Hoban, Jerry Williams, Sean McCabe and Dalton Bousman playing in the event. Joe Giorlando also made his return to YuGiOh for the event.  Day one was nine rounds of swiss with a cut to top 16 to be played on Sunday. The top cut broke down to 2 Water, 4 Mythic Dragon Rulers, 1 Ghostrick, 2 Geargia, 1 Evilswarm, 1 Plant Dragon, 2 Bujin, and 2 Infernity. In the finals it was a Mythic Dragon mirror match with Patrick Hoban taking down Alyxander Lisgathe in four games to win his third ARG Circuit. The Circuit heads to Washington D.C. at the end of May where Primal Origin will be legal for play bring a lot of new decks to the fold.
