Deck Doctor – William Kronbaek

Hello Yugioh community! My name is William Kronbæk and i live in Copenhagen, Denmark (Europe).

I’ve been playing Yugioh for a couple of years now, and I might as well give this a go. In both decks I’ve chosen to keep them at 40 cards, as adding more cards than the original 40 is basically adding worse card to your deck, although of course with exceptions.

Starting out with Billy’s deck, here’s the decklist he posted:

Monsters: 19

3 Koa’ki Meiru Guardian

3 Koa’ki Meiru Sandman

3 Koa’ki Meiru Wall

3 Block Golem

2 Card Trooper

2 Maxx “C”

2 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo

1 Neo-Spacian Grandmole

Spells:10

3 Mystical Space Typhoon

2 Soul Taker

2 Pot of Duality

1 Seal of Orichalcos

1 Monster Reborn

1 Dark Hole

Traps: 12

2 Dimensional Prison

2 Solemn Warning

2 Call of the Haunted

2 Bottomless Trap hole

2 Torrential Tribute

1 Solemn Judgment

1 Starlight Road

Extra Deck: 15

2 Gem-Knight Pearl

2 Kochi Kochi Dragon

2 Soul of Silver Mountain

1 Temtempo the Percussion Djinn

1 Wind-Up Zenmaister

1 Gachi Gachi

1 Fairy King Albverdich

1 Gaia Knight, Force of Earth

1 Naturia Beast

1 Naturia Barkion

1 Scrap Dragon

1 Stardust Dragon

The monsters:

I’ll start with removing the 2 Maxx “C”s, as they’re not that good right now, and a deck like this shouldn’t allow the opponent to make a push the way Maxx “C” lets them. I’ll also take out one of the Sandmans as they won’t be live that often with decks like chaos dragon not playing any traps. Then I’ll add 2 Legendary Jujitsu Master as they’re really good right now, and makes Soul of Silvermountain easy to make, which can bring back your Jujitsu Master (or Block Golem) for more fun. I chose not to run Giant Rat as i feel that it most of the time isn’t needed, and to many monsters would get cloggy as this deck normally wants only 1-2 Meiru’s on the field and something to reveal in the hand.

The Spells

I removed 1 Mystical Space Typhoon as this deck doesn’t really have any pushes it needs to clear the backrow for. I also removed the 2 soul takers as there are better ways to remove the monsters before they get a chance to attack. I then chose to add a copy of Heavy Storm, as it’s an amazing card and the deck doesn’t have any cards that has to stay on the field. I didn’t add any Seal of Orichalcos (or Terraforming/Demise of the Land) as a lot of other people chose to, as the Orichalcos will lead to dead draws and isn’t a key card of any kind (but it is still a great card making your monsters a lot bigger).

The Traps

Finally for the traps I chose to add in 2 Mirror Force, a card that can catch a lot of people off guard. I chose to keep Torrential Tribute because it’s a great card this format, and sacrificing a single monster to stop the opponent going off is amazing. I also kept Starlight Road over The Huge Revolution is Over, as the option to get a Stardust can be game changing, although you should be knowing when to summon the Stardust and when not to.  I also chose not to include Skill Drain in the main deck, as they according to me are better suited for the Side Deck.

The Extra

Although Rock Stun doesn’t use the Extra Deck a lot, but there is no reason not to be cards in the Extra Deck that potential can win you duels. I started out with removing one of the Kachi Kochi Dragons, as there is no reason to be 2 of them in here. I also removed all 4 Synchros beside Stardust, as it’s very situational that you will reborn a tuner, and there’s lots of other cards i want to be in here (Stardust of course staying due to Starlight). I also removed the Gachi because i have no real way to make it, and I removed the Zenmaister. I added a Gagaga Cowboy, because it’s a great out to the likes of bls, and I added some staples like Utopia, Maestroke, Leviair And Papilloperative, as they deserve to be in here although they make block golem dead. I also added a Evigishki Merrowgeist as it can simply win games against decks like Frogs and Psychics, and i added another Albverdich, as you need the second one at times, and there isn’t really something better to fill up the last spot. Here is the decklist i ended with:

Monsters: 18

3 Koa’ki Meiru Guardian

3 Koa’ki Meiru Sandman

2 Koa’ki Meiru Wall

3 Block Golem

Now for Joe’s:

Joe Giorlando’s  Gishki Hero Turbo Deck

1 Number 39: Utopia

1 Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis

1 Number 11: Big Eye

1 Gaia Dragon, Thunder Charger

1 Black Rose Dragon

This is a very interesting deck, which is very explosive, although this version has some obvious flaws, such as no Fusion Monsters for the Miracle Fusions.

The Monsters:

Here I’ll start out by removing the 2 Tour Guides and the Sangan, as they don’t really do anything for the deck, besides maybe taking back stuff you used for Miracle Fusion with Leviair. I then added another Shadow as getting to your Aquamirror is critical.

The Spells:

I Started out cutting a salvage, as it gets dead very easily, and leads to dead draws, which often stops this deck in going off. The only other change I did was to add 2 Gishki Aquamirror, because 1 isn’t gonna be enough. I chose not to include any Pot of Duality as I couldn’t find any room worth sacrificing for it, and I didn’t include any Scapegoat as your Plasmas most likely will be used for Destiny Draw and Trade in.

The deck doesn’t run any Traps, so let’s get to the Extra!

The Extra:

First off, I’ll cut all 7 Rank 3’s (Grenosaurus, Melomelody the Brass Djinn, Wind-Up Zenmaines, Leviair the Sea Dragon, Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction and Temtempo Percussion Djinn) Because I don’t play Tour Guide anymore and therefore don’t have access to Rank 3’s.

I also removed Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger and Black Rose Dragon. I added 3 Absolute Zero’s and an Escuridao for the Miracle Fusion, and some extra deck staples like Gem-Knight Pearl, Photon Papilloperative and Gagaga Gunman. I also added a Daigusto Phoenix which can lead to OTK’s when you have 2 Visions, and a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon for sided Cyber Dragons. Here is the decklist i ended up with:

Monsters: 19

1 Dark armed Dragon

3 Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude

3 Destiny HERO - Plasma
