Hello Yugioh Community! The new forbidden and limited list has been released and the new format will start off with a bang! YCS Toronto is going to take place this upcoming weekend on September 1st! This has left most duelists attending the YCS with very little time to play test and fine tune their decks, but this format has already begun to take shape. In my article today I am going to discuss what I think will be the most popular decks at YCS Toronto and more than likely see a lot of success. It is important to know what the most hyped up decks are going into any event that way you can prepare your main and side deck properly. Last year at YCS Toronto, it was also the first YCS of a new format and Agents were beyond popular. I made sure to prepare my main deck and a huge chunk of my side for this deck. I ended up facing a whopping nine Agent decks throughout the tournament and only took a loss to one of them. Being ready to deal with what you are probably going to be facing every round is half the battle.
Question of the article – What deck do you think will win YCS Toronto?

THE BIG THREE
Going into this new format, I feel that there are three main decks that seem to have the most hype surrounding them and the power to back it up. These are the decks you should consider playing and preparing for if you have plans to attend the YCS. I am also going to give you guys a treat and put up my own deck list for you guys to see! This way you know a basic structure of the deck you will more than likely sit down to face at the start of this format.
1.) Dino Rabbit
The deck that just won’t go away. The new forbidden and limited list did hurt this decks consistency and power a little bit by semi-limiting Rescue Rabbit and Tour Guide, but that’s about it. This deck will continue to see a lot of play and probably be one of the strongest decks of the format. Most Dino-Rabbit duelist always complain about how they never draw rabbit, so now it will just be more of the same and it will continue to win.
My Deck List:
Total: 40
Monsters: 20
3 Kabazuls
3 Sabersaurus
3 Thunder King Rai-Oh
2 Recue Rabbit
2 Tour Guide From the Underworld
2 Spirit Reaper
2 Effect Veiler
1 Gorz, Emissary of Darkness
1 Sangan
1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
Spells: 11
3 Mystical Space Typhoon
3 Forbidden Lance
1 Pot of Avarice

1 Dark Hole
Traps: 9
2 Solemn Warning
2 Torrential Tribute
2 Bottomless traphole
2 Dimensional Prison
1 Solemn Judgment
2.) Heros
This deck also took a pretty decent hit on the forbidden and limited list, but I still have a feeling we will see quite a few at the top tables. Having E-Call, A Hero Lives, and Pot of Duality go to two do take away from consistency, but you can bet they have gained so much more. Since the last major event in North America, the NAWCQ, Heros have gained the dark Elemental Hero fusion, allowing Super Polymerzation to be an out to any monster, and Heroic Champion – Excalibur, a quick 4000 beatstick. The deck list I am going to share is more along the lines of anti-meta as opposed to a fast bubble beat deck. My deck has a lot of traps so make sure you have your side prepared for Royal Decree!
My Deck List:
Total: 40
Monsters: 10
3 Elemental Hero Neos Alius
3 Thunder King Rai-oh

1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Rebron
1 Book of Moon
Traps: 16
2 Torrential Tribute
2 Hero Blast
2 Solemn Warning
2 Mirror Force
2 Dimensional Prison
2 Skill Drain
2 Bottomless Traphole
1 Starlight Road
1 Solemn Judgment
3.) Wind-Up
And lastly a deck that some player’s thought would be dead is in the running for best deck of the format. With Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity going to one, Wind-Up duelist won’t be able to discard 5 cards from your hand, just 3 if they use Tour Bus and not lose any field presence. This deck is a little less sacky than it was before, but just as deadly as before. This deck can still pack a punch with a combination of Wind-Up Rat and Wind-Up Rabbit shenanigans. If they open with Magician and Shark that still spells bad news for whoever may be on the receiving end. This is probably the deck I would keep an eye out, make sure to side extra carefully to deal with Wind-Ups.

Conclusion: The new forbidden and limited list will take effect on September 1st, the same day as YCS Toronto! This is an exciting time in Yugioh because we don’t exactly know what to expect, but we can try our best to make some educated guesses. I put up each of my own deck list for what I feel are going to be the most popular decks in Toronto so that players can get an idea of what is coming. Feel free to use the lists I shared for yourself and perhaps make your own personal changes to better suit your play style! The best way to know how to beat a deck is by fully understanding how the deck works! I hope my deck lists are able to help you duelist out there in getting a feel for this undefined meta.
