Hello Yugioh Community! I am back this week and more excited than ever! The new set Order of Chaos sneak preview is happening this weekend. Sneak previews are always a lot of fun and full of excitement! In honor of this event I have decided to talk this week about my favorite cards that are in this powerful new set! Most of the cards that I am going to discuss are so strong that they create whole new deck types on their own, while a couple of the cards can be splashed into current decks and make them even more of a contender! This is going to be part one of a two part series. In part two I am going to continue talking about some of my favorites, but have TCG exclusives included after they are all unveiled this weekend!
Question of the article: What is your favorite card in Order of Chaos?
Don’t Forget to answer the question of the article in the comments below!
“The Inzektor Effect” – Inzektor Hornet, Inzektor Dragonfly, and Inzektor Centipede
Inzektor Hornet
Dark/Insect/3/500/200
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzektor" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3, and ATK and DEF by this card's ATK and DEF, respectively. You can send this Equip Card to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; destroy it.
Inzektor Dragonfly
Dark/Insect/3/1000/1800
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzektor" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. If an Equip Card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Inzektor" monster from your Deck, except "Inzektor Dragonfly". While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3.
Inzektor Centipede
Dark/Insect/3/1600/1200
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzektor" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. If an Equip Card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Inzektor" card from your Deck to your hand. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3.
I am going to start this article off by talking about two of the most obvious powerful cards in the new set. Inzektors have effect similar to Draguinity in the sense that they use each other to equip themselves and have effects that activate while they are equipped. The only difference between the two is Inzektors can handle almost anything. Inzektor Hornet’s effect to destroy anything on the field is just outrageous. He is a simple out to almost any card your opponent has on board. If the destruction wasn’t bad enough, Inzektor Dragonfly’s effect will trigger when you use the Hornet’s effect and you can special summon an Inzektor Centipede from your deck. You can then use his effect and start the whole process over again; Destroy a card on the field with Hornet and add another Inzektor Dragonfly from you deck to your hand and be ready to go off again next turn. These three cards create an amazing deck all on their own that I am sure will be a serious contender at YCS Atlanta.
“Winding Up and taking your hand out” – Wind-Up Rat and Wind-Up Zenmaighty
Win-Up Zenmaighty
Rank 3/Water/Machine/1500/1500
2 Level 3 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Wind-Up" monster (from your hand or Deck). When a face-up "Wind-Up" monster you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (except during the Damage Step): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target that monster; add it to your hand.
Wind-Up Rat
Earth/Beast/3/600/600
During your Main Phase: You can target 1 "Wind-Up" monster in your Graveyard; change this card to face-up Defense Position and Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.
Wind-ups probably get the biggest boost of any existing archetype in Yugioh from Order of Chaos. Wind-Up Zenmaighty is just one of the best XYZ Monsters to ever be released. These two cards along with some old ones like Wind-Up Hunter and Tour Guide from the Underworld can create some very devastating combos. Wind-Up Hunter will be abused by both Zenmaighty and Rat to make sure your opponent is left with no cards in their hand. Here is an example of how powerful these cards can be.
Scenario: You go first and your opponent does not have Effect Veiler or Maxx “C”. Your opening 6 cards consist of Tour Guide from The Underworld and Monster Reborn.
Step 1
Summon Tour Guide from the Underworld and use its effect to special summon Tour Bus from the Underworld From your deck. XYZ Summon for Wind-Up Zenmaighty and activate his effect. Detach Tour Guide to special summon Wind-Up Hunter from your deck. Activate Wind-Up Hunter’s effect to tribute Zenmaighty to send a card from your opponents hand to the grave, use Tour Bus effect to put Zenmaighty back into the extra deck.
Result:
Opponent 4 cards in hand
3 Wind-Up Zenmaighty in extra deck, 3 Wind-Up Rat in deck or hand, Wind-Up Hunter on field
Step 2
Activate Monster Reborn on Tour Bus from the Underworld and XYZ summon with Wind-Up Hunter for Wind-Up Zenmaighty. Detach Hunter to special summon a Wind-Up Rat from your deck to the field. Use Wind-Up Rat’s effect to special summon back Wind-Up Hunter. Activate Wind-Up Hunter’s effect to tribute Zenmaighty and send 1 card from your opponent’s hand to the grave and use Tour Bus effect to return Wind-Up Zenmaighty back to the extra deck.
Result:
Opponent 3 cards in hand
3 Wind-Up Zenmaighty in extra deck, 2 Wind-Up Rat in deck or hand, Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat on field
Step 3
XYZ Summon with Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat for Wind-Up Zenmaighty, activate his effect, detach Wind-Up Hunter to special summon a 2nd Wind-Up Rat from your deck. Use Wind-Up Rat’s effect to special summon Wind-Up Hunter from your grave to the field. Use Hunter’s effect to tribute Wind-Up Zenmaighty and send 1 card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard.
Result:
Opponent 2 cards in hand
2 Wind-Up Zenmaighty in extra deck, 1 Wind-Up Rat in deck or hand, Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat on field.
Step 4
This step is basically a repeat of step 3. XYZ Summon with Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat for Wind-Up Zenmaighty, activate his effect, detach Wind-Up Hunter to special summon a 3rd Wind-Up Rat from your deck. Use Wind-Up Rat’s effect to special summon Wind-Up Hunter from your grave to the field. Use Hunter’s effect to tribute Wind-Up Zenmaighty and send 1 card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard.
Result:
Opponent 1 card in hand
1 Wind-Up Zenmaighty in extra deck, 0 Wind-Up Rat in deck or hand, Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat on field
Step 5
XYZ Summon with Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat for Wind-Up Zenmaighty, activate his effect, detach Wind-Up Hunter to special summon a Wind-Up Hunter from your deck. Use Wind-Up Hunter’s effect to tribute Wind-Up Zenmaighty to discard the last card out of your opponent’s hand.
Result:
Opponent: 0 cards in hand
You: Wind-Up Hunter on field, 4 cards in hand (maybe less if you drew a Wind-Up Rat or Wind-Up Hunter)
As you can see from this one play in particular, this deck can be extremely devastating and quite powerful. This is just one example of the power this deck has, but there are many other ways to go about this loop. After Order of Chaos is released you need to make sure your deck is packing a lot of hand traps to prevent something awful like this from happening to you!
“What happens when you Wind-Up an Inzektor?”
The new casts of Wind-Up and Inzektor monsters are some of my favorite cards from the upcoming set Order of Chaos. One of the scariest parts about them is that they can be used together. With all of the Inzektors being Level 3 and Dragonfly having the ability to special summon another level 3 from the deck almost makes them perfect for each other. You will be able to destroy two cards on your opponent’s field , discard a card out of your opponent’s hand, not lose any cards, and be able to do it again next turn.
Summon Inzektor Dragonfly, Equip with Inzektor Hornet. Use Hornet’s effect to destroy one card on opponent’s field. Dragonfly’s effect to special summon Inzektor Centipede and equip him with Hornet. Hornet’s effect to destroy a card and search your deck for an Inzektor Dragonfly and add it to your hand. XYZ Summon with Dragonfly and Centipede for Wind-Up Zenmaighty and use his effect to special summon Wind-Up Hunter and use his effect to send 1 card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard.
Result:
Opponent: Loses 2 cards from field, 1 card in hand. 3 cards total
You: End with 1 monster on field ( Hunter) and an extra card in hand ( Dragonfly)
Conclusion: Wind-Ups and Inzektors are quite powerful and when used together they can become an unstoppable force. The strength that these cards have are part of the reason why they are some of my favorites from Order of Chaos. There are still a few more cards that I really want to talk about In Part 2 of this article, including a few TCG exclusives that are just as awesome as usual!
