Hello boys and girls, It's T-Time. This whole article will seem very simple to some of you while I am sure others will learn a great deal from the references within. Playing lately, I've seen players make some grotty syncrho plays when they have their deck's ultimate combo in place. This is mostly directed towards plant players, but I may make one for faries soon. Think of this more of a reference of what, how, why, and when you should make certain synchro plays. Without further ado, let us begin:
Synchro for a Shooting Star Dragon
Dandyion+Lonefire Blossom
One of the easiest plays to make is to summon Shooting Star Dragon. Lonefire launches Dandylion to fetch another Lonefire Blossom. From there, launch the other Lonefire to get a Spore. Spore synchros with a token to make Formula Synchron. Remove the Lonefire in your graveyard for Spore (who will then be at level 4). Synchro the spore with the remaining Lonefire Blossom and token to make Stardust Dragon. With Formula Synchron and Stardust Dragon on the field, you have now drawn a card and made Shooting Star Dragon. There are ways to do this with Debris Dragon, One for One, and Foolish Burial as well, but this is the most simple and easy way to bring out the individually most powerful, reasonably summonable, synchro monster in the game.
Synchro for a Black Rose Dragon
Dandylion+Glow-Up Bulb
We are only going to discuss Black Rose Dragon on your opponent's turn, since bringing him out is so easy on your turn. First synchro summon Armory Arm with your two monsters. Bring back your Bulb to synchro with a token for Formula Synchron. When your opponent's turn begins, wait for them to play a card and then Black Rose their field with the token+Formula+Armory Arm.
Dandylion+Lonefire
This combo will generate you the most card advantage if played properly. Launch Dandylion with Lonefire Blossom to get Lonefire. Launch Lonefire with Lonefire to get Glow-Up Bulb. Bulb synchros with a token to make Forumla Synchron. Synchro Summon T.G. Hyper Librarian with the Lonefire and Formula. Bring back Glow-Up Bulb and synchro for another Formula Synchron. Wait until your opponent's turn and Black Rose away! Oh, and you drew 3 cards.
One for One+Dandylion
Let us assume you do not have the absolute nuts and also have a Lonefire, Debris Dragon, set Limit Reverse or Call of the Haunted, Reborn Tengu, Monster Reborn... Actually, let us assume this is all you have! Pitch the Dandy off of one for one to get Spore. Spore+Token=Formula. Remove the Dandy for Spore. Make any lv 5 Synchro. Then wait to Black Rose your opponent. Not the most efficient thing in the world, but sometimes it is the right thing to do. For example, if your opponent has a lot of frozen spells, traps, monsters on board and you are fearing Effect Veiler, or simply just want them to play a few more cards to lose.
Synchro for a Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Dandylion+Lonefire Blossom
Just like Black Rose Dragon, I am only going to explain how to make him on your opponent's turn, since making him on yours is too easy. This one is tricky and I often see people miss this play. Launch Dandy for Lonefire to get Lonefire. Launch a token with Lonefire to get Glow-Up Bulb. First, Synchro Glow-Up Bulb with a Lonefire to make Armory Arm. This is KEY if you plan to get your +1. Second, bring back the Bulb and make Formula Synchron. On your opponents turn, be ready to Lonefire+Formula+Armory Arm into Trishula and give them a Main Phase they'll never forget!
Now lets talk about some other combos. Monster Reborn/Call of the Haunted/Limit Reverse+Lonefire Blossom or One for One+Dandylion+Lonefire accomplishes any play that Lonefire+Dandylion does. Lets go over some other scenarios where I see a lot of botched Trishula or Librarian plays.
Debris Dragon+Dandylion+Glow-Up Bulb
This is obvious isn't it? Make Black Rose, make Formula, bring back Bulb, make Trishula, but Wait! You want to do something even trickier... So you Synchro Summon Armory Arm with Bulb and Dandy. Bring back Glow-Up Bulb to make Formula Synchron. Make Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Bounce Debris Dragon with your newly drawn card. HUGE pressure is now put on the opponent since now they have to deal with a Brionac, but also with a next turn Black Rose. You also have an extra token on the field, so if they can't get rid of that, they're facing down a Level 8 synchro+2 new tokens on the next turn. Sometimes pressure is better than greed.
One for One+Dandylion+Monster Reborn/Call/Limit Reverse
Must be nice... Well lets do this right so that you get maximum advantage! After One for Oneing your Dandy, you get Glow-Up Bulb and have two tokens. Bring back Dandylion right now to make T.G. Hyper Librarian. You now have 3 tokens+Librarian. Bring back Bulb and Synchro with a token for Formula Synchron and draw 2 cards. Now wait! Two options are right here. You can make Trishula on your opponent's turn, now, or make an Armory Arm and draw yet another card! Wait until your opponent's turn. If they chose to play it safe, draw. If they get greedy, Trishula them. Its great to have the ball in your court!
Lonefire+Foolish Burial
I won't go into major detail here, just know that you can make any Dandylion+Lonefire play minus one monster. The best play you can really do is to make a Trishula. Foolish a Dandylion, launch a token with Lonefire to get Lonefire, launch Lonefire for Spore. Spore+Lonefire for Armory Arm. Remove Lonefire to make lv 4 Spore and Armory Arm+Spore+Token=Trishula.
Foolish Burial+Debris Dragon
You should know that here you send Dandylion and can make a Black Rose Dragon, Trishula, Stardust Dragon, Scrap Dragon, or Red Dragon Archfiend.
Lets get a little silly. I assume you probably don't play this card, but on the off chance you do... Here is how to make T.G. Halbred Cannon
Reborn Tengu+One for One+Dandylion+Call of the Haunted/Limit Reverse/Monster Reborn
Summon a Tengu and then One for One your Dandylion for Glow-Up Bulb. Synchro Summon T.G. Hyper Librarian with Bulb and Tengu. Bring back Bulb and synchro now with a token in order to make Formula Synchron. This will keep your field from completely locking up. You should now have a Tengu, Token, Formula, and Librarian on the field. Bring back the Bulb with a reborn method and synchro for another Hyper Librarian. If you drew a Tengu or one was dead, synchro first with the other Tengu and finish by making a Formula Synchron. Either way you end up drawing either 3 or 4 cards. Synchro Summon Halbred Cannon with both Librarians and Formula Synchron. You now have two T.G. monsters (Librarians) in your grave for if Halbred Cannon goes to the graveyard. Nifty, huh?
Which synchro combination you bring out is highly reliant on your other cards and what your opponent's setup and deck happen to be. Make sure that you don't play into a Solemn Warning, Effect Veiler, or Dark Hole. Remember that when using Formula Synchron on your opponent's turn, they have priority to activate a card at the start of their main phase. This means that if they chose to activate Dark Hole, even if you chain Formula to make Trishula or Black Rose, those optional effects will miss their timing as the monster is destroyed. The same goes for Stardust Dragon. Just be cautious when making your play and hopefully this was helpful. If you have any more questions you can feel free to ask me and I will be happy to answer them!
