Round 9 Feature Match
Game 1:
Alright everyone we’re here at the Final Match of the ARCS in Worcester. We have Ben Leverett from Atlanta, Georgia playing Dragunity Rulers. His Opponent Juan Correa is Springfield, MA playing Dragunity Rulers also. Let's get this mirror match in Round 9 done. Juan wins the die roll and is going first.
Juan opens his 6 card hand with Cards Of Consonance sending a Dragunity Phalanx to draw 2 cards. Sacred Sword of the Seven Stars banishing Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders to draw 2 cards and adds another copy of itself from the deck. Dragon’s Ravine comes down to send Redox from hand to add Dragunity Dux to his hand from the Deck. Dragunity Dux is normal summoned equipping Dragunity Phalanx to it by it's effect. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and Ben drops Maxx "C" to draw a card. Juan Synchros into HTS Psyhemuth and sets 4 cards to his back row to end.
Ben has Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms, Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos, Garuda the Wind Spirit, Dragunity Dux, Dragon's Ravine, Upstart Goblin, Terraforming, and Mirror Force. Dragon’s Ravine comes down but is stopped by Mystical Space Typhoon. Upstart Goblin puts Juan at 9000 and give Ben an extra card to hand. Terraforming gets him another Dragon's Ravine. He plays it to send Blaster to add Dragunity Phalanx from the Deck to his hand. He activates Tempest to send Dragunity Phalanx and itself to add Dragunity Arma Mystletainn. Dragunity Dux is summoned to equip Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and Juan Chains Maxx "C" to draw a card. Ben sets one card to his back row and passes.
Juan draws to 2 in hand and activates not one but two Reckless Greeds! Mystical Space Typhoon destroys Ben’s set Mirror Force. Dragon’s Ravine comes down sending Blaster to add Dragunity Dux to hand. Dragunity Dux is summoned to equip Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and is used with Dragunity Dux to synchro into Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana. Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana equips Dragunity Phalanx by it's effect. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself again. Juan attempts to Xyz summon into Hieratic Dragon King of Atum but Xyz Summons into Constellar Ptolemy M7 because he can’t Xyz into Hieartic Dragon King of Atum since he's not using two Dragon type monsters. Gold Sarcophagus banishes Tempest and adds Dragunity Arma Mystletainn to his hand from the effect. Dragunity Arma Mystletainn Special Summons itself by sending Phalanx to grave but equips Dragunity Phalanx by it's own effect. Drgunity Phalanx specials itself and the two are used for Crimson Blader. Blaster comes up by banishing Dragunity Arma Mystletiann and Redox and adding another Redox to his hand. Consteller Ptolemy M7 bounces Dragunity Phalanx back to Ben's hand. Crimson Blader attacks over Dragunity Dux for 1100, Blaster attacks directly for 2800 and Constellar Ptolemy M7 attacks directly for 2700 which drops Ben to 1400Lps. He sets one and passes.
Ben draws Compulsory Evacuation for his turn adding it to Garuda, Phalanx and Mystletainn. Garuda special summons itself banishing Tempest and adding a copy of itself from the effect. He sets a monster and one back row. Blaster returns to Juan's hand.
Juan can’t draw for one more turn due to Reckless and also gets his Tempest at that same time. Blaster is used with Guard to destroy Ben’s set Compulsory which he chains sending back Chrimson Blader to the Extra Deck. Juan discards Redox to add Draunity Dux to his hand. Constellar Ptolemy M7 uses it’s effect to send back Ben’s Garuda to his hand. Scrap Dragon uses the effect to target a back row and the monster that Ben has set. That’s all Ben has to see and he scoops it up.
During siding Ben asks, “Do you play Return?" and Juan replies, “Yes, but I’m not doing that.” So siding continues relatively silently. Ben will be starting game 2.
Game 2:
Ben opens up game 2 with Blackwing Zephyros the Elite, Tempest, 2 Cards of Consonance, Garuda, and Redox. He activates Tempest sending itself and Garuda to add Dragunity Phalanx. Cards Of Consonance comes down for Ben to send Dragunity Phalanx to draw D.D. Crow and Sacred Sword. Sword banishes Redox for Ben to draw Dragon's Ravine and Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, adding another copy of itself. He send Zephyros to add Dragunity Dux. Dragunity Dux is Normal Summoned to equip Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and Synchros into Vajrayana. Vajrayana's effect is used to equip Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself. Zephyros bounces Dragon's Ravine and Ben loses 400 dropping him to 7600Lps to Special Summons it from the grave. Zephyros and Dragunity Phalanx are used to Synchro Summon Dragunity Knight-Gae Dearg. Gae Dearg’s effect is activated to add Dragunity Phalanx and send Redox to grave. He activates Cards of Consonance sending Dragunity Phalanx to draw Terraforming, and Sacred Sword. He uses the two Dragunity Knights to Xyz Summon Hieratic Dragon King of Atum and activates the effect to Special Summon Blaster from the deck. Blaster is banished to Special Summons Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon adding another Blaster to his hand. Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon Special Summons Gae Dearg from the Graveyard. Gae Dearg’s effect is used to grab a Dragunity Dux to hand and sends Blaster from hand. He sets one back row and ends.
Juan draws for turn and activates Terraforming to grab a Dragon's Ravine. Dragon's Ravine is activated to send Flamvell Guard from his hand and send Tempest to the Graveyard from the deck. He sets 4 and ends his turn.
Ben draws Vanity’s Emptiness for his turn. Atum uses it’s effect to Special Summon Tempest from the Deck and Juan activates Torrential Tribute! Dragunity Dux is summoned and Dragunity Phalanx equips to Dragunity Dux. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and synchros into Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana and equips Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and is used with Vajrayana to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon.
Juan scoops it up to avoid going into time in the Final round. He will going first in the Last game in Day 1 of this tournament.
Both players dive into their side deck again. Ben asks, “Now do you want to side out return?” Juan replies, “Yeaaaa…wait no I don’t. I didn’t know what you’re asking.”
Game 3:
Juan draws for turn and activates Tempest sending 2 copies of itself to add Dragunity Phalanx. Dragon's Ravine comes out and sends Dragunity Phalanx to add a Dragunity Dux to his hand. Sacred Sword comes down banishing Redox to draw 2 and adding another copy to his hand. Dux is Normal Summoned and equips Dragunity Phalanx. Phalanx Special Summons itself to Synchro into Vajrayana. Next Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself and synchros into Stardust Dragon. He sets one and passes his turn.

Tempest is used sending Phalanx and itself to add Dragunity Arma Mystletainn to his hand. Dragunity Dux is summoned and equips Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx and Dragunity Dux are Sycnhro Summoned into Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana, Vajrayana equips the Dragunity Phalanx. Dragunity Phalanx Special Summons itself again, this time being sent to the grave for Mystletainn. “I didn’t expect to get this far.”, Says Ben. Constellar Ptolemy M7 to return Draguntiy Mystletainn to his hand. Mystletainn Special Summons and equips Dragunity Phalanx . Mystical Space Typhoon on Juan’s back row and Juan chains Stardust to Mst and Ben negates that destroying Juan’s Mirror Force. He attacks for 2700-5300. He sets two and passes. Stardust comes back.
Juan draws for turn and Special Summons Blaster banishing Tempest and Redox, adding another copy of themselves for the effect. Dragon's Ravine is activated to send Dragunity Phalanx to add Dragunity Dux to his hand. Dragunity Dux comes down and bring back Dragunity Phalanx and Chain Disappearance banishes that Phalanx revealing his hand of Tempest and Redox and Sixth Sense. Juan attacks and Compulsory bounces Blaster back to hand. Juan sets and passes.
Ben activates M7 to add Dragunity Dux back to hand. Dragunity Dux was Normal Summoned to equip the Dragunity Phalanx. Tempest comes up by banishing Vajrayana and Mystletaiann. Juan activates Sixth Sense calling 5 and 6 and Ben rolls a 5, letting Juan draw 5! Ben attacks and Juan did not get the Swift Scarecrow or the Battle Fader that he needed.
Ben Leverett is moving on to Day 2 with a record of 7-2 and a shot at Top 16!
