Hey guys, I’m back again with yet another Cool Deck Ideas article. Hidden Arsenal 7 and Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy brought us quite a few new cards, and with them I had a lot of interesting deck ideas.
The first and most interesting deck I have to showcase today includes the most sought after card in the set, [ccProd]Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack[/ccProd]. As I am writing this article, the card is selling on a consistent basis at $145. That is an expensive price tag for a card that a lot of decks need 3 copies of, so for the sake of everyone, lets all hope this card drops down a ton in price.

THAT’S GAME! 9000 Damage!
The obvious problem of this deck is that it loses to almost every Hand Trap imaginable. People are already going to be siding copies of Droll & Lock Bird in order to slow down opposing Spellbook decks and that card happens to stop this deck right on it’s tracks. This deck will also have a problem coming back from any halt an opponent has on a play you make. It may not be the most competitive deck in the world, but it most definitely is a blast to play with.
Next up on the list is a Worm Deck utilizing the new XYZ Monster, [ccProd]King of the Feral Imps[/ccProd]. This Pseudo-[ccProd]Gear Gigant X[/ccProd] is nothing to look past, so I thought I would make an interesting deck centered around it.

For those of you that don’t know how the worm deck actually works, it is basically just a control-based deck, similar to Dino Rabbit and Fire Fist, in which it has solid monsters and great removal. Worms also have their own powerhouse of a trap card; W Nebula Meteorite. W Nebula Meteorite will almost always shift the tempo of the game into the Worm player’s favor. Lots of cards will be drawn, lots of great effects will resolve, and a Worm King to the field will be the cherry on top. This build in particular runs a couple of obscure cards for a Worm deck, because of the fact that I really wanted to easily be able to make King of the Feral Imps. I threw in the Rescue Rabbit engine for a quicker way to get to Rank 4’s. An added bonus happens to be that the monsters I chose for the Rescue Rabbit engine happen to be Alien monsters. As a result, I decided to throw in Alien Ammonite, a searchable reptile with a great effect. Overall, I’m not so sure if this could compete with all of the Dragon Ruler decks running around, but it is a great choice to bring to you local tournament. Give it a shot!
The final deck I have to showcase today is yet another deck that utilizes Elemental Stratos in its engine. The deck Idea is nothing new really, but I believe it is the deck to best utilize the card I had in mind, [ccProd]Pinpoint Guard[/ccProd].

HERO is probably the most overused deck in the game of yugioh, so I don’t think I need to do any explaining on any cool combos or neat tricks in the deck. I really just want to focus on Pinpoint Guard. It is a very interesting card in the set that I believe has some potential even though its level 4 requirement limits its possibilities.
The first cards that came to mind when reading this card were Sacred Crane, Elemental HERO Stratos, and the Gadgets. Overall, I chose to base this article on HEROs because they have little to no problem getting to Stratos on a consistent basis. The Idea is that you drop Stratos turn 1 and after they eventually kill it, you will have a live Pinpoint Guard to both save you from OTKs and search you a card with Stratos’ effect.
Needless to say, I think Pinpoint Guard is an interesting card and I’d like to see what people do with it in the future.
So that’s it for this week’s article, I hope you all enjoyed. Stay tuned for future content! Until next time, play hard or go home!
