Hello, duelists! Welcome back to The Scoop! The absolute realest Yu-Gi-Oh! News Report on the internet, and of course it’s right here on ARG! We have reached the conclusion of the World Championships as well as the ARG Circuit Series Championships, marking the end of one of the most fantastic seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh that we’ve seen in quite some time! I’m excited to see what this next year will bring, but not before wrapping up this years events and remembering all of the incredible moments we’ve seen in the game this year. Before we get started, I’d like to extend the biggest Read more

Why do you play Yu-Gi-Oh and why do you enter tournaments?  For entertainment?  To have fun with friends?  For the feeling of winning or to win prizes and a trophy?  Would you use every advantage you can get so long as it’s not labeled ‘cheating’ ?  That was the discussion I originally posted on my Facebook page and when it was shared on ARG’s Facebook page a heated debate ensued. The original question asked whether or not you would tell your opponent that he or she was accidentally exposing their cards or would you use this information to your advantage? Read more

In more recent events, it seems as if the Hieratic/ Dragon Ruler deck has fallen out of favor by many of the top players in this game.  Seemingly overshadowed by the Mythic Dragon Ruler variant, or left behind for other decks completely, could this be a mistake?  With the recent ban list, Hieratic Rulers were one of the least affected decks with the loss of a single copy of Hieratic Seal of Convocation.  Now with YCS Las Vegas completed, a deck that has brought me to my 3rd top (my others being the 75th and 100th YCS) and a deck Read more

Round 2 John Brad (Mermails ) vs. Roland Morton ( Geargia) Welcome to Round 2 everyone! We have John Brad piloting his Mermail deck against Roland Morton armed with his Geargia-Karakuri deck.   Game 1 Morton wins the die roll and elects to go first. He sets a Geargiaarmor and 4 backrows before passing his turn. Brad mirrors this play, but sets only 3 and passes. Morton draws for his turn and flips Trap Stun before flipping the Amor face-up to net him a Geargiaaccelerator. He then proceeds to special the Accelerator, uses Armor to set itself facedown, summons Karakuri Read more

Hey there Kaijudo Duelists, Aiden Thorne here and today we will be going over the second card in my new mini-series, “Tier 1 Card Reviews”. You are going to quickly find that my views vary greatly compared to most of the other competitive players out there (Or at least, they did). Frankly, I don’t believe our meta is as diverse and healthy as everyone claims it to be; just because your local has different decks every week doesn’t mean they are all competitive. For those of you who followed my progress through Seattle’s Kaijudo Championship, then you know I did Read more

Hey there Kaijudo Duelists, Aiden Thorne here and today we will be going over a new mini series I wanted to start, “Tier 1 Card Reviews”. You are going to quickly find that my views vary greatly compared to most of the other competitive players out there. Frankly, I don’t believe our meta is as diverse and healthy as everyone claims it to be; just because your local has different decks every week doesn’t mean they are all competitive. I haven’t really tested at all for Seattle yet, and I’m still quite confident in my ability to perform well. I Read more

Hey there Kaijudo Duelists, Aiden Thorne here and this week I’ll be hitting an interesting topic: Limited play in Kaijudo. For those of you who play other games, you understand how fun the limited format can be; I’m here to tell you that I’ve found the limited play in Kaijudo to be unrivaled. What exactly is limited? Well there are two most common forms, drafting and sealed. Drafting is where you get a certain number of booster packs, open one, choose a card from it, and then pass the remaining cards to the player next to you; you then repeat Read more

We have finally reached the final week and now we know who will be going to Seattle from the KMCs! This was a crazy week and I’m already super late on covering it! Lots of real life stuff caused me to have some delays; I’m behind on pretty much everything right now haha. Let’s jump straight into the reviews! The KMC happened in Oakmont, PA; let’s see what took this KMC by storm! Total Players: 63 Top 8: 1 Carl Miccioto – Read more
