Vincent wins the dice roll and opens with Cards of Consonance pitching Dragunity Phalanx to draw 2. Next Terraforming comes down to search for Dragon's Ravine and activates it sending Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders to grave and adding Dragunity Dux to his hand. Dux is normal summoned activating the effect to equip Phalanx from grave, Phalanx activates it's effect to special summon itself to the monster zone. Phalanx is sent to the grave to special summon Dragunity Arma Mystletainn, it's effect equips Phalanx from grave, which specials itself again and Phalanx is then sent for another Mystletainn! Mystletainn's effect activates to Phalanx and the little dragon tuner special summons itself yet again. Phalanx and Dux are used to Synchro for Dragunity Knight-Gae Dearg. Gae Dearg's effect is activated to add Blackwing-Zephyros the Elite and also discards it to resolve the effect of Gae Dearg. Next Vincent Xyz summons Hieratic King of Atum with the Mystletainn, he detaches for the effect and special summons Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his deck. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon activates the effect to special summon Phalanx from the graveyard. Zephyros comes up next from the grave putting Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon back to his hand from it's effect causing him to take 400 damage putting him at 7600 Lifepoints. He uses Phalanx and Zephyros to synhcro into Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana which equips Phalanx from grave, Phalanx special summons itself and the two dragunity monsters are used to synchro summon Stardust Dragon to the field. Next Vincent special summons Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger is on top of the Atum. Gaia Dragon is banished to special summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon who special summons Vajrayana from the graveyard. Finally the two Dragunity Knight Synchros are overlaid to Xyz summon Photon Strike Bounzer. Finally after this massive turn he sets one card and passes with 1 card in hand.

Brenden draws for 6 and opens with Flamvell Guard, Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos, Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders, Raigeki Break, Dragon's Ravine, and Debris Dragon. He activates Ravine and pitches Guard from hand to send Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls to the grave from deck for the effect. Tidal and Redox are banished to special summon Blaster from his hand; The two dragons search copies of themselves. In his Battle Phase Blaster attacks over Stardust for 300 damage dropping Vincent to 7300 lps. Debris is summoned and has it's effect shut off by Bounzer putting Brenden at 7000 lps. He synchros into Star Eater and sets a backfield card to end his turn.

Vincent draws to 2 in hand. In the Standby Phase Brenden activates Break to destroy the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. Vincent continues play and activates another Ravine to replace Brenden's. Blaster is sent to grave for the effect of Ravine to search Dux to hand. 2 Mystletainn are banished to special summon Blaster. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Vajrayana are banished to special summon Redox from grave. Next, the two level 7 dragons are overlaid and Number 11: Big Eye hits the board and Brenden scoops up his cards and dives into his side deck.

Vincent Gillette begins the first match of the Top 16 with a massive first turn with all of the combos that he wants to hit, leaving Brenden to play catch up and ultimately taking the first game. Side boarding is relatively silent and precise. This match will continue with Brenden going first in Game 2.

Brenden starts us off with Game 2 having 2 Redox, D.D.R.-Different Dimension Reincarnation, Flamvell Guard, Skill Drain and Sacred Sword of Seven Stars. He activates the Sword by banishing Redox to draw Gold Sarcophagus and his third Redox! He activates Gold Sarcophagus for Tempest to add a Tempest. DDR comes down pitching Tempest for Redox. Flamevell Guard gets normal summoned to synchro summon Colossal Fighter and he sets a set card.

Vincent starts off with Terraforming to get a Dragon Ravine. Ravine activates sending Blaster to add Phalanx. Cards of Conscience is activated to send Phalanx and draw 2 cards. He sets 4 cards to his backrow and ends.

Brenden draws Effect Veiler for his turn, giving him a hand of it and 2 redox. He attacks with Colossal for 2800 dropping Vincent to 5200 and passes. Vincent activates Mystical Space Typhoon and it hits skill drain.

Vincent draws and activates Reckless to draw 2 more cards…then in the chain he activates another reckless! He normal summons Dux and activates the effect but it's shut down by veiler. Vincent has the Dragon Arma Mystletainn to equip and special summons phalanx to synchro for Scrap Dragon. He activates ravine sending terraforming to foolish Tempest. Blaster and Dux are banished to special tempest; letting blaster search itself. Scrap Dragon targets Tempest and Colossal to attack for 2800 dropping BB to 5200. Sets 2 to backrow and passes.

Brendan draws Maxx "C" for his turn and adds back the Tempest from Gold Sarc. He activates Redox to special summon Colossal Fighter and banishes Redox and Guard for Tempest. The battle phase is shut off by Book of Moon and he passes.

Vincent activates reckless and activates ravine sending blaster to add dux to hand. Dux is normal summoned to equip phalanx, phalanx specials and maxx c is chained letting him draw 1, Return from the Different Dimension, He synchros into Vajrayana and equips phalanx and Brendan draws again, Next Vajrayana activates the effect sending Phalanx to be able to attack twice, Vincent destroys his set Waboku and Bredan's Colossal Fighter, Electric Virus takes the tempest and Vincent attacks with Scrap Dragon, and Tempest for the match!

Vincent Gillette moves onto the Top 8 with Dragunity Rulers in a 2-0 sweep over Brenden Beckmanns Dragon Rulers!
