Here we go guys and gals! We have our Top 8 matchup here in Las Vegas. First we have Admassu Williams playing his Mythic Dragon Rulers which we saw in Round 7 yesterday. His opponent Alex Pineda is from Orange, CA and is playing Water. Without any further ado let's get this show on the road.
Game 1:
Admassu wins the die roll and opens with Redox, Dragon of Boulders, Cards of Consonance, Flamvell Guard, Influence Dragon and Cardcar D. He draws Upstart Goblin for his turn and activates it giving him Card Trooper. Cards of Consonance is activated giving him Burial From the Different Dimension and Mythic Tree Dragon. He summons Cardcar D and sets Burial. Cardcar gives him Blue-Eyes White Dragon and another Cards of Consonance to end.
Alex starts off with Mermail Abyssteus discarding Mermail Abyssleed to search Mermail Abysslinde from his deck to hush and. Mermail Abysspike comes down to discard Mermail Abyssgunde to search Genex Undine to hand and Special Summoning Abyssleed from his Gravyeard. All 3 monsters attack dropping Admassu to 3700. Abyssleed’s effect is activated to send Redox from Admassu’s hand to grave. Abyssteus and Abyssteus are used to Xyz Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Dragossack destroying the set Burial.
Admassu draws Flamvell Guard for his turn. He activates Cards of Consonance discarding Influence Dragon to give him Dragon Shrine and Solemn Warning. Dragon Shrine is activated sending Blue-Eyes and Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos to the Graveyard. Blaster is Special Summoned by banishing Influence Dragon and Blue Eyes. Redox is Special Summoned by banishing Cardcar D and Flamvell Guard. Redox attacks over the token and Blaster attacks over Draco for 200 putting Alex at 7800. Dracossack is Xyz Summoned and uses it’s effect detaching Redox to special Summon two tokens. Dracossack uses it’s effect to tribute a token to destroy a Reckless Greed which is chained. He sets Trooper and ends.
Alex activates Dark Hole and chains Breakthrough Skill to destroy Dracossack, Admassu draws Skill Drain from Card Trooper’s effect. Next Undine is Normal Summoned but it’s shut off by Solemn Warning dropping Admassu to 1700. He ends with a set card.
Admassu draws Debris Dragon for his turn and Normal Summons it activating the effect but it’s shut off by Breakthrough. Redox is Special Summoned by banishing Blue-Eyes and Card Trooper. Star Eater is summoned using the two dragons. Blaster is Special Summoned by banishing his in hand Tree Dragon and Debris Dragon. Blaster and Star Eater attack for 6000 putting Alex to 1800. He sets Skill Drain to end.
Alex sets and ends. Blaster goes back to Admassu’s hand at the End Phase.
Admassu draws Trade-In for turn and shakes his head for forgetting about the Skill Drain. He banishes Redox and Flamvell Guard, searching a Mythic Tree Dragon and Special Summoning Blaster from his hand. He activates Skill Drain dropping to 700. Blaster attacks over the set Abysslinde and it Special Summons Abyssturge in Defense.
Alex draws his next card then concedes with that!
Game 2:
Admassu makes Alex use all of his resources and lock himself out of draws due to Reckless Greed and Skill Drain locks the game away. Alex will be going first in game 2.
Alex starts with Abyssteus discarding Atlantean Dragoons to Special Summon itself in Defense, searching an Abysslinde and Marksman to hand. He sets one back row and ends with that.
Admassu starts with 2 Dragon Shrine, Mirror Force, Debris Dragon and draws Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo for his turn. He sets the Pachycephalo, 2 Dragon Shrines and Mirror Force to end.
Alex uses another Abyssteus discarding Marksman to target and destroy the Fossil Dyna and Special Summons it in Defense Position searching Abyssgunde, Admassu chains Maxx “C" to draw White Stone of Legend. Abyssteus turns to attack and attacks directly for 1700 putting him at 6300. He sets a monster and ends.
Admassu draws Skill Drain for turn and activates Dragon Shrine sending Blue-Eyes and Redox to grave. Redox is Special Summoned banishing Fossil Dyna and Maxx “C”, Alex chains Maxx “C”. White Stone of Legend is summoned and used with Redox to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon, giving Alex another card and giving Admassu Blue-Eyes to his hand. He attacks with Stardust Dragon over Abyssteus for 800 putting Alex to 7200. He sets Skill Drain to end.
Alex Normal Summons Abyssturge activating the effect discard Abyssgunde and Admassu chains Skill Drain paying 1000 and dropping to 5300. Abyssgunde Special Summons the other Abyssteus from the Graveyard and both Abyssteus are used to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgiaos. Abyssgaios attacks right into Admassu’s Mirror Force destroying both monsters! He sets a back row and ends.
Admassu draws Gold Sarcophagus for his turn. He activates Redox by banishing White Stone and Blue Eyes but Redox is banished by Debunk! Dragon Shrine is activated sending Flamvell Guard and Blaster to Grave. Gold Sarc is activated banishing Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms to let him add Influence Dragon to his hand. Blaster is Special Summoned banishing Flamvell Guard and Blue Eyes and Maxx “C” is chained by Alex. Admassu attacks over the set Linde which Special Summons an Abyssmegalo in Defense. Blaster attacks over that leaving Alex with only a set back row. He passes turn with that.
Alex draws for turn and activates Tidal from his hand banishing Marksman and Abyssteus from grave. Abyss Sphere is activated to Special Summon an Abyssteus in Defense from the deck. Tidal attacks over Stardust for 100 putting Admassu and 5200. Main Phase 2 he Xyz Summons into Dracossack and tributes itself to destroy skill drain. Setting 2 cards to his back row and ending his turn.
Admassu draws Card Trooper for his turn. He activates the effect to mill 3 cards, Flamvell Guard, Maxx “C” and Mirror Force. Blaster is Special Summoned by banishing Flamvell Guard and Stardust and the board is wiped by Alex’s Torrential Tribute! Card trooper let’s Admassu draw Trade In. He sets the Trade in and ends turn. Alex activates Abyss-Sphere to Special Summon Abysslinde and it’s destroyed by Abyss-Sphere at the End Phase. Abysslinde Special Summons Abysspike discarding Abysspike to search Abysslinde to his hand.
Alex summons Abysslinde for his turn then Special Summons Tidal from Grave. Abysspike, Abysslinde, and Tidal attack directly for game!
Alex slowly grinds down Admassu’s resources and takes the game with a timely Torrential Tribute and a flurry of monsters to follow up. Admassu will be going first in this deciding game 3 of this Top 8 Feature Match here in Las Vegas.
Game 3:
Admassu opens with Card Trooper, Skill Drain, Torrential Tribute, Debris Dragon, Bottomless Trap Hole, and Redox. He Normal Summons Trooper for his turn and mills 3, Flamvell Guard, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Tidal. He sets the 3 traps and passes.
Alex special summons Abyssteus discarding another copy of itself and it’s shut off by Skill Drain paying 1000 and putting him at 7000. Abyssteus attacks letting Admassu draw Cards of Consonance and dropping him to 5700. He ends with a set monster and set back row.
Admassu draws Dragon Shrine for turn. He uses it to send Blue-Eyes and Blaster to grave. Cards of Consonance sends Debris to let him draw Mirror Force and Maxx “C”. Blaster Special Summons itself and Maxx “C” is chained by Alex. He attacks over the Teus to deal 1100 putting him at 6900 and he ends with that.
Alex sets one to his back row and ends.
Admassu draws Mythic Water Dragon for turn. Blaster attacks over the set Abysslinde letting Alex Special Summon an Abyssmegalo in Attack. He passes with that.
Alex turns Megalo to defense, sets another back row and ends.
Admassu draws another Maxx “C” for his turn. He attacks over the Abyssmegalo and then ends.
Alex draws for turn then activates Reckless Greed to draw 2. He passes with that.
Admassu draws Dragon Shrine for turn. Blaster attacks directly for 2800 putting Alex to 4100. He activates Dragon Shrine sending Blue-Eyes and Tempest to the Graveyard. Ending with that.
Alex Special Summons Aqua Spirit in Defense and then ends.
Admassu draws Mirror Force for his turn. Tidal is activated banishing Flamvell Guard and Blue Eyes but Debunk banishes it. Blaster attacks over the Aqua Spirit and he ends.
Alex sets a monster and ends.
Admassu draws Mythic Tree Dragon and attacks over the set Abysspike. He ends with that.
Alex sets another monster and ends his turn.
Admassu draws Cardcar D. He activates Redox effect discarding itself and Cardcar to target Tempest, Alex chains The Transmigration Prophecy to send Tempest and Redox back to the deck! Continuing he attacks over Alex’s set Maxx “C” ending with that.
Alex sets another monster and ends.
Admassu draws another Skill Drain for turn. He attacks over another set Maxx “C”. Setting Skill Drain to end.
Alex summons Abysspike for his turn discarding Abyssgunde for the effect and letting him Special Summon Abysslinde from his Graveyard in Defense. He ends with that.
Admassu draws another Water Dragon for his turn. he summons Tree and Special Summons Water from his hand. Attacking over the Abysspike with Blaster for 1200 dropping Alex to 2900. He ends with that.
Alex Special Summons Tidal and it’s banished by Bottomless. Next Marksman is summoned and Abysslinde is turned to Attack Position. Marksman attacks into a Mirror Force and Admassu chains Maxx “C” to draw White Stone. Turge is Special Summoned to attack over Water Dragon for 700 dropping Admassu to 6300. He ends with that.
Admassu draws Dragon Shrine and activates it to send Redox and Flamvell Guard to Graveyard. White Stone of Legend is Normal Summoned and used with Blaster to Special Summon Stardust Dragon. Redox and Blaster come up from the Graveyard and Alex concedes with that!
Admassu keeps all of Alex’s effects in check with a first turn Skill Drain and manages to keep his Blaster on the field nearly the entire game. He will be moving on to our Top 4 with his Mythic Dragon Ruler deck!
