What does the future have in store? GB04 Predictions

Hello once again readers, we will be taking a short break from the Bermuda Series in order to discuss the possibilities that could present themselves in Generation Booster Set 4: Soul Strike Against the Supreme. This set is the fourth set to be released alongside the “Cardfight!! Vanguard G” anime series. Now very little is known about this set since it hasn’t been released overseas in Japan as of yet. However over the past couple of weeks we have seen several images of promo posters, as well as we have recieved a small handful of cards from Bushiroad’s card of the day. So we are starting to get a hazy picture of what is to come in this set.

GB04

So what do we know currently about this new set? It has been confirmed that we will be receiving support for Gear Chronicle, Royal Paladins, Neo Nectar, Shadow Paladins, Megacolony, Angel Feather, Genesis, and the one clan that has been a staple so far in all the G boosters, Cray Elemental. While very little is known about the actual cards, what we have been told so far is that the three Main clans receiving new support are Gear Chronicle, Royal Paladin, and Neo Nectar. The reasoning behind this being that the three clans are played by the Three Main Protagonists in the anime series. Those three are to be expected, what wasn’t expected was the new Angel Feather and Megacolony support. These two clans are two of the least supported ones in the card game next to the beloved ninja clans of course.

The set itself will contain 104 cards with 2 generation rare cards, 8 triple rare cards 12 double rare cards and 12 SP/parallel cards. What a lot of players are truly looking forward to are the hinted alternate versions of the main trial deck cards which are Altmile, Chronojet Dragon, and Ahsha, Bushiroad has also hinted that these units are to be considered an “evolution” of their predecessors. What we can conclude by that statement is these 3 units whos names are, Soaring Divine Knight, Altmile, Chrono Dragon Nextage, and Dream-weaving Ranunculus, Ahsha.

With Bushiroad stating that these three units will be “evolutions” of the previous versions rumors began spreading across the internet about what their effects will actually be. All three units are confirmed to be Sride units or Grade 4. Partnering the statement about them being evolution units and the fact that they are Strides we can conclude that these 3 units will more than likely gain an effect upon striding over the previous unit. This is commonly called a Break Stride. So what would their abilities be? To even start considering this question we must first explain what each of the three original units actually do. So we will start off with the Royal Paladin unit “Blue Sky Knight Altmile”

Blue Sky Knight, Altmile

His ability requires you to be Generation Break 2, which means you have must have 2 face up Stride units in your Generation Zone in order to use this effect. During your turn, all of your units in your front row get Power +5000. Altmile has second effect that has a cost of counter blasting one card in your damage zone. “During your turn, when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to two cards from your hand, call them to separate Rear-guard circles, choose up to two of your units and those units get power +5000 until end of turn. By applying this knowledge we can begin to speculate what Soaring Divine Knight, Altmile’s ability could be. My theory behind his possible ability has a cost of Counter blasting one card in your damage zone and flipping over a copy of himself in the G Zone. If you pay the cost, Search your deck for up to 2 Royal Paladin units and call them to separate rear-guard circles, shuffle your deck, then they both gain 5000 power, and since it is an evolution unit if you have a copy of Blue Sky Knight, Altmile in your Heart then the units in your front row gain 10000 power. It is quite possible that this unit could call any Royal Paladin unit from the deck. Partner this Evolution stride ability with the original unit you could flood your field and create large columns very quickly to make that late game push to finish your opponent.

The Next unit in question is Chrono Dragon Nextage and its predecessor Chronojet Dragon

Chronojet Dragon

Chronojet Dragons ability like Altmiles is a Generation Break 2 ability. When this unit attacks a vanguard, until end of that battle, this unit gains 5000 power, and your opponent cannot call grade 1 or greater units from hand to the guard circle. Its second ability has a cost of counter blasting one card in your damage zone. During your turn, when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent’s rear-guards, and your opponent puts that unit on the bottom of his or her deck. So what would the evolution of this be?

Unlike Altmile this evolution isn’t as straight forward. But my theory behind it is similar to the way my theory behind the Altmile stride unit would work. It would have a Cost of Counter blasting 1 card from your damage zone and flipping a copy of itself face up in your damage zone. When this unit attacks your opponents vanguard you may pay the cost, if you do your opponent cannot call Grade 1 or higher units to the guard circle. Then if you have a unit whose name is “Chronojet Dragon” in your heart this unit gets plus 5000 power and plus 1 critical until the end of that battle. I also have a second theory behind this unit’s ability. Instead of gaining a critical, it could possibly have a secondary ability that is an activate effect with a cost of one counter blast. If you have a unit whose name is “Chronojet Dragon” in your Heart you may pay the cost. If you do you, choose up to two of your opponent’s rear-guards, and your opponent puts those units on the bottom of his or her deck.

The last unit we are going to talk about is Dream-weaving Ranunculus, Ahsha, and her predecessor Ranunculus Flower Maiden, Ahsha.

Ranunculus Flower Maiden, Ahsha

Similarly to both Altmile and Chronojet Dragon, Ahsha’s skill is also a Generation break 2 ability. It states during your turn, if you have another unit with the same card name as this unit on your Vanguard circle or Rearguard circle this unit gains plus 5000 power. Its second ability is a break stride ability that has a cost of counter blasting one card in in your damage zone. During your turn, when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your rear-guards, search your deck for up to one card with the same card name as that unit, call it to rear-guard circle, shuffle your deck, and the unit called with this effect gets plus 2000 power until end of that turn. Similarly to how Altmile’s evolution ability was fairly straight forward. My theory behind Ahsha’s ability like with the other two it would have a cost of counter-blast one card in your damage zone and persona flip one copy in your G zone. When this unit strides and there is a card with a name “Ranunculus Flower Maiden, Ahsha in your heart you may pay the cost. If you do for every card with “Maiden” in its card name on your side of the field this unit gains +3000 power. Its second ability would be Counter blast 2, you may pay the cost if you do search your deck for up to two cards with the same card name as that unit, call it to a rear-guard circle, shuffle your deck and the units called with this effect get +3000 power until the end of that turn.

As I mentioned earlier in this article there is confirmed to be support for Megacolony, Angel Feather, Shadow Paladins, Genesis and Cray Elemental. Bushiroad has revealed a handful of cards so far for each of these clans. Of which the most noteworthy cards are The new Critical trigger for Megcolony , named Machining Firefly. The Angel Feather Critical trigger named Invert Celestial, Asbeel. Shadow Paladin will be receiving new Stride unit named Supremacy Black Dragon, Aurageyser Damned. Genesis will also be receiving a new Stride unit named Goddess of the Skies, Dione. Lastly Cry Elemental is receiving a tech card named Heat Elemental, Buwer.

The New Megacolony Critical allows you to re-stand one of your tapped rear-guard units, and stun one of your opponent’s rear guards. If you have a vanguard with “Machining” in its card name. It has a cost of counter blasting one card in your damage zone. You pay the cost when you call this card to a rear-guard circle.

The new Angel Feather Critical Trigger Invert Celestial, Asbeel states that if you have a vanguard, with “Celestial” in its card name, this unit gets “Activate if in the damage zone” (put this face up card on the top of your deck) Shuffle your deck, reveal three cards from the top of your deck, search for one crd not named “Invert Celestial, Asbeel” from among them, put it into your damage zone face-up, and put the rest of the cards into your drop zone.” This unit adds more consistence to the clan as well as gives you a way to un-flip one of your counter blasted cards.

The next noteworthy card is the new Shadow Paladin stride unit named Supremacy Black Dragon, Aurageyser Damned. His ability is an activate ability that can be used once per turn. It has a cost of counter blasting 1 card in your damage zone and persona flipping one copy of itself in your G zone, as well as retiring 3 of your rear guard units. Reveal two cards from the top of your deck. Choose one of our opponent’s rear-guards for each grade 1 or less card revealed with this effect and retire them. Put the cards revealed with this effect into your hand. If the number of face up cards named “Supremacy Black Dragon, Aurageyser Dragon” in your G zone is three or more, this unit gets plus 1 critical until end of turn. This creates an entirely new version of shadow paladin decks that separates itself from the current Diablo Meta.

The Fourth Noteworthy card from Set 4is the new Genesis Stride unit named Goddess of the Skies, Dione. Its effect has a cost of soul blasting 3 cards. When this unit’s attack hits a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at three cards from the top of your deck, search for one card from among them, put it into your hand and put the rest into your soul. This card is pretty straight forward. It’s a good way to use your soul then instantly replenish it after use.

The Final card we are going to discuss in this article is the new Cray Elemental card Heat Elemental, Buwer. Its ability states {Retire this unit} When this unit’s attack hits a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one card with Limit Break, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck. Also since it is a Cray Elemental it is considered to be from all clans, and all nations. This card is one of the better if not the best Cray Elemental to be created yet. It gives every break ride deck as much if not more consistency than the Limit Break enabler cards. Since it is a Cray Elemental it is easily splashed into just about any deck.

But even with the previous information we still don't have much information about the new set. Since we have so few cards most of what we know is purely speculation and even if we have some of the basic information. The New Set Drops in Japan on August 28th , and over here in the United States on October 2nd. Until that time or until Bushiroad decides to release all the cards only time will tell.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you in today’s article. Next week we will delve into the conclusion of my Bermuda Triangle Series. So until next time Keep on Keepin on, and always remember to Clearly reveal each drive check to your opponent.
