Justin Russell vs. Parker Roberson
Justin won the die roll and elects to go first. He starts off with two copies of Upstart Goblin to dig deeper into his deck. He Normal Summons Kuribandit then activates Mount Sylvania. During the End Phase he excavates another Sylvania, double Rose Archer, Sylvan Hermitree, and Sylvan Komushroomo, adding Sylvania. He reorders the top three cards of his deck and passes the turn.
8000 (Justin) - 10000 (Parker)
Parker starts off with a Normal Summon of Summoner Monk He activates the effect discarding Reinforcement of the Army to Special Summon another Summoner Monk in defense. He then uses the second Monk, discarding Soul Charge to Special Summon Armageddon Knight, which sends Archfiend Heiress to the grave and adding Infernity Archfiend to the grave. He then Xyz Summons Lavalval Chain then sends Stygian Street Patrol to the grave. Stygian Special Summons Infernity Archfiend from his hand which searches another copy of Infernity Archfiend. He Xyz Summons another Lavalval Chain which sends another Stygian to his grave. Stygian Special Summons Archfiend which adds Infernity Launcher. He then uses Instant Fusion to Special Summon Kamionwizard to then Xyz Summon Key Beetle targeting his backrow. He uses Launcher to bring back two copies of Infernity Archfiend and Justin scoops it up to the lethal swing!
Game 2
Justin goes first and once again starts with an Upstart Goblin. He then uses Sylvan Charity to draw three cards and put two copies of Sylvan Sagequoia on top of his deck. He then activates Mount Sylvania, sets two cards to his back row and passes the turn.
Parker also starts with an Upstart Goblin. He then Normal Summons Summoner Monk and discards Instant Fusion to Special Summon Armageddon Knight, but Justin responds with Maxx “C”. Armageddon Knight sends Stygian to the grave. He sets three then uses Stygian to Special Summon Infernity Archfiend which searches out Infernity Break. He then Xyz Summons Lavalval Chain to stack Infernity Archfiend on top of his deck. He passes without a play. During the End Phase Sylvania excavates Lonefire Blossom and then Justin flips up Royal Decree to lock down Parker's backrow.
Justin Normal Summons Lonefire Blossom to bring out a copy of Sylvan Hermitree. He then uses Sylvania to discard Sagequoia and put Sylvan Princessprout on top of his deck. The effect of Hermitree excavates Princessprout to draw him a card as he Special Summons Princessprout as a Level 8. He Xyz Summons for Alsei, the Sylvan High Protector. He names Red-Eyes Black Dragon as he excavates Spore then spins one of Parker’s set cards. He shows the Soul Charge and Parker immediately scoops it up. We’re going on to a decisive Game 3!
Game 3
Parker goes first and plays a Dimensional Fissure and Normal Summons Infernity Archfiend. He sets two and passes the turn.
Justin sets a monster and a backrow then passes.
Parker Normal Summons Stygian and Justin flips Vanity’s Emptiness. Stygian attacks into a set Komushroomo, naming one and excavating D.D. Crow. He sets one and ends.
8000 (Justin) - 7600 (Parker)
Justin draws and passes.
Parker draws for turn, sets a monster and passes.
Justin draws, sets a back row and passes.
Parker sets another monster and passes.
Justin passes without a play.
Parker sets his draw then passes.
Justin sets a back row and passes.
Parker passes to Justin.
Justin sets another back row then sends it over to Parker.
Prker passes without a play.
Justin sets a fifth back row and passes.
Parker draws and ends.
Justin activates Mount Sylvania then passes.
Parker passes.
Justin discards D.D. Crow and passes.
Parker passes. End Phase Justin excavates Miracle Fertilizer to put on the bottom.
Justin discards Maxx "C" and passes.
Parker passes.
Justin discards Maxx "C" and passes.
Parker discards Soul Charge and passes. End Phase Justin excavates Hermitree which is banished.
Justin discards Sagequoia.
Parker discards Upstart Goblin.
Justin discards Fertilizer.
Parker ditches Dark Grepher and passes. End Phase Justin excavates Vanity's Emptiness and keeps it on top.
Justin flips up Upstart Goblin to draw one. He then uses another Upstart goblin. Sylvan Charity draws him three and sends back Hermitree and Princessprout. Mystical Space Typhoon hits Dimensional Fissure. He then Normal Summons Lonefire Blossom but is hit with Breakthrough Skill. Lonefire tributes for cost. He uses Soul Charge for 1000 on Lonefire Blossom. He tributes Lonefire Blossom for another Lonefire then brings out Hermitree. He then activates Sylvania discarding Spore to stack Princessprout on top. He uses Hermitree to excavate Princessprout to draw a card then Special Summon her as a level 8. He Xyz Summons Alsei then names Red-Eyes Black Dragon, excavating Royal Decree to return Parker's Stygian to the top of the deck. He sets three then passes.
7000 (Justin) - 9600 (Parker)
Parker flips up his set Summoner Monk. He then Xyz Summons with Archfiend for Diamond Dire Wolf. He flips up Infernity Launcher and Justin chains Breakthrough Skill on Diamond Dire. Launcher sends Archfiend to the grave. He Normal Summons Stygian Street Patrol. then flips up Instant Fusion to Special Summon Kamionwizard but Justin flips up a Rivalry of Warlords, forcing Parker to send Stygian and Kamionwizard to the grave. Parker Dark Holes to wipe the board then uses Stygian to Special Summon Stygian from his hand. He sets three then tries to use Launcher but Justin flips up Vanity’s Emptiness. After it resolves, Parker uses Infernity Break to banish Launcher and target Justin’s set Royal Decree which is flipped up. Parker flips up Soul Charge for 3000 on two Archfiend and Necromancer which lets him search out the last Infernity Archfiend. He Xyz Summons Stygian and Archfiend for Rhapsody in Berserk which banishes Justin's Breakthrough Skill and Spore from his grave. He uses Stygian to Special Summon Archfiend from his hand and Justin chains Maxx “C” while Parker adds an Infernity Barrier to his hand. He uses Necromancer to bring back Archfiend to search and set Infernity Break. He Xyz Summons Diamond Dire to pop Royal Decree then passes. End Phase Justin excavates Hermitree to reorder the top 3 of his deck.
7000 (Justin) - 6600 (Parker)
Justin draws for turn and uses the third upstart. He follows it up with a Sylvan Charity to return Soul Charge and Princesprout on top. He then uses Miracle Fertilizer but Parker has the Vanity’s Emptiness in response. Justin sets one and passes.
7000 (Justin) - 7600 (Parker)
Parker draws and sets. He flips up Infernity Break to destroy Justins Breakthrough Skill. He chains and Parker uses Barrier. Necromancer brings back Archfiend which lets Parker search and add another Necromancer to his hand. He Normal Summons Necromancer then Xyz Summons for Evilswarm Exciton Knight which he equips with Rhapsody. Necromancer brings back Archfiend. Exciton and Archfiend get in directly then he passes. End Phase Sylvania excavates Princessprout as Level 7 and Justin chains Sagequoia to Special Summon it.
2100 (Justin) - 7600 (Parker)
Justin uses Sylvan Charity to draw the last three card of his deck and put Rivalry and Sylvania on top of his deck. He then uses Miracle Fertilizer to bring back Hermitree. He uses another Fertilizer to bring back another Hermitree. He then Xyz Summons for Alsei in attack mode but Parker has the Solemn Warning to negate it. He tributes Princessprout for her effect to put herself back on top. He then uses Soul Charge for Princessprout. He uses Sagequoia to excavate Princessprout to bring her back as a level 7 while activating another Sageqoia. He then Xyz Summons Orea and passes the turn.
1100 (Justin) - 5600 (Parker)
Exciton runs over Orea then Parker passes.
800 (Justin) - 5600 (Parker)
Justin uses Princessprout to stack herself back on top. He uses Fertilizer but Parker has the Vanity’s Emptiness to stop the play and and Parker pumps his fist as he offers the handshake, expecting a concession. Justin sighs and shakes Parker’s hand after a long fought match.
Parker hopefully moves on to the Top 32 as Justin hopes his tiebreakers are good enough to pull him through as well.
