ARGCS Hartford 2015 Grand Finals Ben Leverett vs Marjanco Gorgievski

And here it is folks the moment that we’ve been waiting for all weekend…The Finals of the first ever ARG Circuit Series! These two players have beat out all 318 others and it comes down to this. We have Scott Page from Dallas, Texas with his Dragon Ruler deck. We also have the reigning National Champion and ARG player Patrick Hoban who’s here with his signature Dragunity Rulers decks.

Next week, thousands of players will travel to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the North American World Championship Qualifier. After that, there won’t be any regional events, or even any planned YCS for perhaps the rest of the format. As a result, the competitive yugioh scene is somewhat in a hiatus. In order to keep you entertained, I have provided two different ideas to occupy your time! Enjoy!

A few Italian duelists piloted a Spellbook deck at their WCQ not to long ago. This deck was incorporating the disregarded card, Spellbook Library of the Crescent. It was an ingenuous idea that would help stray away from inconstant builds that were incorporating cards like High Priestess of Prophecy, Toon Table of Contents, and other useless cards. Take a look at the video for more info.

A timely Evilswarm Ophion or Imperial Iron Wall can really interrupt the Dragon Ruler deck from doing its thing. What if I told you that there was an out to any “out” an opponent has. I now present my trump card for the Dragon Ruler deck, Psi-Blocker. Check out the video!

Interviewing the one and only Parker Robinson. You may remember Parker Robinson when he got 4th Place at YCS Indy last year piloting Hieratic. This time he is back and got 1st Place at ARG Ohio Regional playing Elemental Dragons. Infernity has a number of ways to begin its loop. Anything from having Summoner Monk in hand with a spell card and anywhere from zero to three other monsters to simply having Armageddon knight with Stygian Street Patrol in hand. This gives the deck a very appealing early game. Once Archfiend is in grave, you’ve got plenty of cards to draw even if you weren’t able to do a full loop which allows for it to have a strong long game. Combine the deck’s strength at all stages of the game with a great Fire Fist and Mermail matchup, and Read more

Deck profile and interview with YCS Champion Frazier Smith who took team ARG’s Prophecy deck to a 9-2 finish at YCS New Jersey. Smith explains the main deck choices, the matchups, what to side and how to side, what pros and cons came with running this specific build, and what he faced off against during the tournament. One of the essential things to note about Prophecy—before the release of Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy—is that it has a great matchup against Fire Fist and decks using the Rescue Rabbit engine in general. Those decks are typically meant to grind, but Read more

Hey guys! I’m back this week with a tournament report from the YCS this past weekend in Austin, Texas. I had a lot of fun, but unfortunately I didn’t do to well. Check out the video for more details!

Tyler Tabman is here with a video article talking about what he feels is a pretty good side deck card, [ccProd]Retort.[/ccProd]
