Having Fun at the Library

Who knew that Yugioh players would be able to have so much fun at the Library? Well, more so with the Library. For those who do not understand what I am talking about, it is the new Yugioh card T.G. Hyper Librarian! This brand new card is on the verge of coming out and will be legal on July 5th just in time for the North American World Qualifier! I am here to talk about this card because it is a game changer. The release of this powerful synchro monster will make and break many decks that are very popular right now and seeing successes at major tournaments. I am going to take a close look at this card and find out what decks it works well with, what decks it will devastate, and if this card will live up to all the hype that has been surrounding it for quite some time.

Here is a quick look at the card I am talking about:

T.G. Hyper Librarian
Level 5 / Dark / 2400/ 1800
[Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect] 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
While this card is face-up on the field, each time a Synchro Monster(s) is Synchro Summoned, draw 1 card for each.

For as long as Yugioh has been around drawing cards has always been a major plus for every player. It speeds decks up, helps gain advantage over your opponent, and the more cards you have the more options for great plays will open up. It is easy to see that this card will allow players to many cards as they are spending their cards to create a huge field of powerful synchro monsters! This card is an all around good card with really no draw backs.

Goodbye, Magical Android!
With the release of Hyper Librarian our dear old friend Magical Android will finally become obsolete. Magical Android used to be a staple in most players extra decks ever since the release of Synchro monsters in The Duelist Genesis since he was the only decent level 5 synchro monster. Now with cards like Ally of Justice Catastor and Hyper Librarian there will no longer be room for the Android. Not only does Hyper Librarian have a much better effect, his defense is 100 higher and they share the same attack! Even Psychic based decks will be packing Librarian over Magical Android due to the amount of syncho summoning they can do now with their new support from Extreme Victory!

The decks that benefit the most!

In my opinion, the Fabled deck type will benefit the most from the release of Hyper Librarian. For those that are unfamiliar with the deck, the fabled monsters are what Dark World monsters always wanted to be. They all gain their effects from being discarded or by discarding other fabled monsters from your hand. The main point of the deck is discard all the monsters in your hand by using their own effects, (The Fabled Chawa or The Tricky) and then synchro summon a bumch of monsters so your opponent will not be able to come back. Well for Fableds it is pretty simple to make a level 5 synchro monster first turn using The Fabled Cerburrel(LV2 tuner) and The Fabled Ganesha (LV3). Once you create the Hyper Librarian you continue to special summon more synchro monsters. While this would normally deplete your hand, the Hyper Librarian will allow you to continue drawing and your onslaught will not stop until your opponent is out of life points. T.G. Hyper Librarian fixes the problem Fabled have right now, running out of cards. The deck can be really explosive, but can only do so much, but with the Librarian giving them the speed they need, this deck will become a top contender.

This deck has already gained popularity with the release of Trishula, Frozen Fitzgerald, and Reborn Tengu. The deck is good right now, but will only get much better with Librarian. The deck will now be able to summon Junk Synchron, bring back a glow up bulb, special doppelwarrior from hand, synchro doppel and junk for T.G. Hyper Librarian, get two tokens, synch a token with bulb for Formula Synchron, Draw 2 cards ( one from Formula, one from Librarian), use the bulbs effect and synchro with the other token for another Formula to draw 2 more cards! So you are using 2 cards in hand (Junk and Doppel warrior) to draw 4 cards and have a T.G. Hyper Librarian and 2 Formual Synchrons on your side of the field. This is just a simple play that this deck will be able to do it has many more combos such as Lonefire Blossom and Reborn Tengu which by getting Spore with Lonefire Blossom, you will have a Stardust, T.G. Hyper Librarian, a Reborn Tengu on field and have drawn 1 card from the Librarian. This Tech Genius monster just opens up so many plays with this deck it is silly.

The deck that it devastates

Sadly, as of July 5th, X-Sabers will be the deck that will be hurt the most by the release of this card. While it does not kill them because they will be able to use T.G. Librarian themselves, it definitely makes them a little less playable. If you are an X-Saber player and your opponent brings out a Librarian it is tough to come back from. X-Sabers are a deck that rely a lot on Synchro Summoning monsters that will help you get out of situations and put your opponent in spots that they cannot get out of. So when your opponent summons a T.G. Hyper Librarian, not only will they draw cards from all the moves they make, they will also be drawing cards when you try to mount your Faultroll come back. The deck may not die, but it will be a lot tougher to win with this synchro monster reliant deck.

Tech Genius Hyper Librarian is one of the best Yugioh cards to be released for quite some time. It is a very powerful card that will allow the player who is able to summon it first gain advantage over their opponent and put them in a spot that is difficult to come back from. Powerful cards like this one usually bring on a lot of complaining from players as being too good or broken and I would have to agree that this card might be too good. This card is very to bring out for a lot of decks and will be a likely game-deciding card. This year’s North American World Qualifier will be hugely based on who can bring this card out first. While this will not always guarantee a win, if you can summon him first with an explosive enough hand you might be on your way to an easy victory.
