Hello Yu-Gi-Oh Community! For the people who do no know me, my name is Oliver Tomajko and I am 11 years old. I like to compete at big events like Regionals, and YCS’s. Some of you may have read one of my Dragon Duel or main event feature matches. I am a very skillful played and I LOVE to try out different decks.
Anyway, let me get to the point of this article. I will be talking about the new deck that is coming out on Order of Chaos, Inzektors. I will be discussing why or why not you should play them.
First of all there are three main Inzektors, Inzektor Dragonfly, Inzektor Centipede, and Inzektor Hornet. I will first tell you the effect of Inzektor Hornet, the main combo piece of the deck, his effect is:
Once per turn: You can equip 1 “Inzektor” monster in your hand or graveyard to this card. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3, and ATK and DEF by this card's ATK and DEF, respectively. You can send this equip card to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; destroy it.
Next, Inzektor Dragonfly’s effect:
Once per turn: You can equip 1 Inzektor monster in your hand or graveyard to this card. If an equip card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can special summon 1 Inzektor monster (from your deck), except "Inzektor Dragonfly". While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3.
And finally Inzektor Centipede’s effect:
Once per turn: You can equip 1 Inzektor monster in your hand or graveyard to this card. If an equip card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 Inzektor monster from your deck to your hand. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3.
So right of the bat there is a very simple combo, summon Inzektor Dragonfly and use its effect to equip an Inzektor Hornet from your hand or graveyard to it. Then send Inzektor Hornet to the graveyard to destroy a card your opponent controls. Because Inzektor Hornet’s equip was sent to the graveyard, you special summon Inzektor Centipede from your deck. Then you can use Inzektor Centipede’s effect equipping Inzektor Hornet from your graveyard. Send Inzektor Hornet to destroy another opponent’s card. Inzektor Centipede 2nd effect will trigger letting you add Inzektor Hornet from you deck to your hand. Then next turn you can repeat. This combo is a +4. If you can get this combo off more then once then you pretty much have no chance of losing the duel.
There are some other cool versions of is the wind-up version. This version pretty much spams Wind-Up Zenmighty because all of the Inzektors are level 3. Using Wind-Up Zenmighty you can loop Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rat to send cards from your opponents hand to the graveyard. You have to have 3 level 3 monsters on the field for it to work thought but in this deck that is not that hard. Later in this article I will show you a very simple combo that can do this very easily.
Here is how the combo works, you XYZ 2 of your level 3 monsters for Wind-Up Zenmighty. Then you use Wind-Up Zenmighty effect detaching one of the XYZ materials special summoning Wind-Up Hunter from your deck. Next you activate the effect of Wind-Up Hunter to tribute Wind-Up Zenmighty to send one card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard. After this XYZ Wind-Up Hunter and the 3rd level 3 monster, to make a 2nd Wind-Up Zenmighty. Use Wind-Up Zenmighty effect again to detach Wind-Up Hunter to special summon Wind-Up Rat from your deck. Use Wind-Up Rat’s effect, changing it to defense position to special summon Wind-Up Hunter from your graveyard. Once again, use Wind-Up Hunter’s effect and tribute the 2nd Wind-Up Zenmighty and send a 2nd card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard. XYZ Wind-Up Rat and Wind-Up Hunter to make the 3rd Wind-Up Zenmighty. Use that Wind-Up Zenmighty’s effect to detach, once again, Wind-Up Hunter and special summon a 2nd Wind-Up Rat from your deck. Use this Wind-Up Rat’s effect bringing back Wind-Up Hunter and use Wind-Up Hunter’s effect to tribute the last Wind-Up Zenmighty to send a 3rd card from your opponent’s hand to the graveyard. From here, you can XYZ Wind-Up Rat and Wind-Up Hunter for something good like Wind-Up Zenmaines.
“How is getting 3 level 3 monster on the board easy” you say? Well it actuality is! All you need is Inzektor Dragonfly, and Heart of Clear Water in your hand and an Inzektor Hornet in your hand or graveyard. So first you summon Inzektor Dragonfly and use its effect equipping Inzektor Hornet from your hand or graveyard to it making its ATK 1500. Next you activate Heart of Clear Water and equip it to Inzektor Dragonfly. Since Inzektor Dragonfly’s ATK is more the 1300 Heart of Clear Water is immediately destroyed. Because an equip is sent from Inzektor Dragonfly to the graveyard, Inzektor Dragonfly 2nd effect will activate and special summon an Inzektor Centipede from your deck. Next, activate Inzektor Hornet’s effect and send it to the grave and pop and opponent’s card. Again, because an equip left Inzektor Dragonfly its effect will trigger and special summon another Inzektor Centipede from you deck. Now you have a field of 3 level 3 monsters, 1 Inzektor Dragonfly, and 2 Inzektor Centipede.
So as you can see Inzektors are a very explosive archetype and they can go off with very little cards. Now I am going to talk about some tech cards that can make this deck even more powerful.
- Monster Slots: Banish cards to spam Levair the Sea Dragon’s effect to get more pops, searches, and special summons of the Inzektors. Can draw you into your spells and traps. Can turn an Effect Veilered Inzektor Dragonfly into an XYZ play.
- Dimensional Fissure: Inzektors that are sent from the spell and trap card zone are not banished because they are not counted as monsters. Does not banish XYZ materials because they are not counted as monsters. Lets Inzektor Dragonflys and Inzektor Centipedes get banished for a Levair the Sea Dragon play. Stops opponent’s Maxx “C” and Effect Veiler’s.
- Trap Stun: Shuts down opponent’s back row so you can pop them with Inzektor Dragonfly, Inzektor Centibeet, and Inzektor Hornet.
- Spirit Reaper: When you opponent knows that you have an Inzektor Dragonfly in you hand they will not commit to the board so that you have nothing to pop with Inzektor Dragonfly\Inzektor Hornet’s effect. This is the prefect time to summon Spirit Reaper and attack directly for a +1.
Now I will explain the reason of why I would not play this deck.
- Gets shutdown by Skill Drain and Effect Veiler.
- Can open up with incontinent hands.
- Usually loses game 1 of the match to Dino\Rabbit
As of now, I am going to be running Inzektors at YCS Atlanta and here is how the build that I will be running as of now.
Monsters: 21
3 Inzektor Dragonfly
3 Inzektor Centipede
3 Inzektor Hornet
1 Inzektor Giga-Mantis
3 Tour Guide Form the Underworld
1 Sangan
2 Maxx “C”
1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
Spells: 14
Traps: 7
1 Compulsory Evacuation Device
Side Deck: 15
Extra Deck: 15
As you can see, i am not playing the Wind-Up version. This is because Maxx "C" kills the combo and with this deck I want my opponent to not be able to do anything but a 1 for 1 with Maxx "C". You also may see that I tried to make this deck not as an OTK deck because of Maxx"C", Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, and Tragodia. I made the deck more of a control\beatdown deck. I have really been liking the results of this deck as it usually wins. But for YCS Atlanta people are going to side and main deck cards to try and beat this deck just like they did for Darkworlds and Dino\Rabbit.
I hope you have enjoyed and learned something from this article. I will try to put up 1 or 2 more articles by the end of this contest.
