Patrick Hoban and Carlos Medrano face off in the battle to continue on to top four!
Patrick starts by playing Dragon Ravine and discards Dragunity Phalanx to add Dragunity Dux to his hand, he normal summons Dux and special summons Phalanx for Dragunity Knight-Vajrayana, using the effect of Phalanx again in order to synchro summon for Scrap Dragon he sets two cards face down and ends his turn. Hoban starts game one with an explosively powerful play
Carlos draws and plays Spellbook of Secrets and searches for Spellbook of The Master to add to his hand. He normal summons Temperance of Prophecy and activating Master, Patrick responds by chaining Vanity's Emptiness. Carlos sets 1 card face down and passes his turn.
Hoban activates Scrap Dragon's effect by tributing his Emptiness to destroy a Phoenix Wing Wind Blast that was set by Carlos, Patrick activates Sacred Sword of Seven Stars to draw two cards and banish Tempest Dragon Ruler of Storms, He activates Dragon Ravine and discards Blaster Dragon Ruler of Infernos. Dragunity Dux is normal summoned and activates Dux's effect to equip Phalanx, then special summon it with Phalanx's effect. With Dux and Phalanx on the field he synchro summons into Vajrayana and uses Vajrayana's effect to special summon Phanlanx. Then he sends it to his graveyard to special summon Dragunity Arma Mystletainn. With overwhelming power on the field, Carlos picks up his cards and game two begins.
GAME 2
Carlos goes first and normal summons Spellbook Magician of Prophecy to search for Spellbook of The Master, activates Master to copy Spellbook of Fate and flip Magician and sets 3 back row.
Patrick activates Upstart Goblin activates Dragon Ravine and discards Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders and adds Dux to his hand. Hoban then plays Cards of Consonance discarding Phalanx to draw, he sets four cards face down.
Carlos flips Magician and Patrick responds with a solid Solemn Warning to negate the flip summon. Carlos activates Spellbook of Secrets to search out another Magician and Patrick denies the play with a cleverly sided-in Divine Wrath.
Hoban activates Ravine's effect by discarding a Terraforming to search for Dragunity Dux and normal summons him, activating his effect to equip Dragunity Phalanx, Phalanx effect goes off special summing him to the field, Carlos knows what's about to happen, so why not play Maxx"C" Hoban gives no card advantage and attacks instead. Mirror Force Destroys Dux and Patrick passes.
Carlos sets one card face down and passes his turn.
Hoban banishes Dux and Redox to summon Tempest, Carlos says no, using bottomless to destroy Tempest. Patrick activates Dragon Ravine by discarding Redox, Carlos swiftly uses MST to stop the effect from going off. Hoban activates Return From The Different Dimension to get back his Tempest, Redox and Dragunity Dux, Carlos's expression turned and and with that he said, "Put this in quotes, that card is stupid, and should be banned, I'm serious." Patrick continues to synchro summon Dux and Phalanx into Vajrayana swings with everything, during Main Phase two he overlays the two Dragon Rulers to make Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack, he detaches a material to make his two tokens, uses Dracossacks effect by tributing a token to destroy his other token and ends his turn.
Carlos draws for his turn, sets three cards face down and ends.
Hoban draws Carlos flips all three cards to reveal the bluff! Patrick Hoban makes top four.
